Prince William Humane Society (PWHS) volunteers are the heart and soul of the organization!

On the flip side, volunteering offers community members the opportunity to see and understand the operation first hand.  Volunteers with PWHS have the opportunity to apply their talent and skills to a multitude of areas from pet care to fundraising.  We are committed to allowing our volunteers to experience all aspects of daily operations.   By doing so, volunteers gain new experiences and insights while forging new friendships and taking pride in their accomplishments.  Volunteering with PWHS also allows students the opportunity to earn community service hours.

Membership in the PWHS volunteer program requires a membership donation of $25 per individual or $50 per family, which includes a volunteer T-shirt, background investigation, 10% annual discount at our pet boutique and all special event tickets, early ticket sales, quarterly newsletter, entry into various volunteer prize contests and free annual renewal for volunteers who complete 200 or more volunteer hours per year.  All volunteers are required to become members, have a background check complete (if over 18 years of age) and receive training in all aspects of the PWHS skill sets.
