The Prince William Humane Society is a private, non-profit humane organization which carries no legal authority. We receive our funding through private donations, grants and bequests. The role of a private humane organization is to provide assistance and resources to save the lives of healthy, treatable animals and to place these pets for adoption; to teach humans to treat animals with more compassion and understanding and to help people have happier, more fulfilling relationships with their pets.
We envision a county in which all citizens regard companion animals as lifelong, valued family members and embrace their responsibility for the welfare of animals.
